We provide services to our clients, covering:

  • solutions for best practice regulatory compliance and management.

We also undertake due diligence and investigative reviews of licence matters for licence holders and regulators.

Our focus is on developing sustainable, best practice environmental practices by working with stakeholders to combine practical experience with contemporary business processes and technology.

At Smart Ecosystems we have a sound appreciation of the current water and natural resources management issues affecting Australia at the national, state and local level.

Our personnel have extensive policy experience in managing national and local water, mining, forestry, land use and emissions issues. This includes working with all levels of government, stakeholders, and the community to find solutions to an emerging range of water, natural resource and emissions challenges.

In particular, our people have significant experience in:

  • current water policy reform issues, including reform at both the national and local levels, such as for the Murray Darling Basin and through the Natural Resources Ministerial Council
  • natural resources management issues, including recent and planned land use reforms across Australia, such as native vegetation reforms, and the establishment of Catchment Management Authorities
  • forestry reform, including reforming the national native timber industry and the delivery of associated structural reform and assistance
  • all aspects of national and local mining and land use policy including associated environmental and water use issues
  • the application of ICT systems, including the use of satellite imaging, cadastral data and mapping software to monitor water usage and environmental activities.

Our team includes qualified accountants, performance auditors and technical experts who have contributed to performance audit programs and projects.

Among our key personnel we have experience working collaboratively with the world’s two largest environmental agencies (the USA Environmental Protection Agency and the United Kingdom Environmental Agency) in relation to the development of environmental performance reporting and outcome indicators.
